After reading a post by my mate, on commenting, I'd like to voice my opinion on it also. Firstly, while half of me appreciates every comment and watch I get, the other half IS slightly annoyed at comments like 'thats cool', 'i like it' or sometimes even just 'nice.'. I mean, fair enough you've taken time to actually comment, and its clear you like the artwork, but something like 'I like the face' as oppose to 'I like it' HELPS a lot more, you know?

I mean, if you like a piece of my work, WHY do you like it? There must be something that drew you to it initially, and I'd be very grateful if you could just take the extra few seconds to put what you like about it, rather than a generic four word letter, or so on.

Critique is very useful to an artist, and artists thrive on it. Because whats the goal of every artist? To improve. And a fantastic way of improving is, or course, acting on critique. Its also the reason I originally joined DA.

So in short, critique is welcome, and I don't think its too much to ask that you comment saying why you like it, if you comment at all. Comments like 'nice' and 'cool' etc also almost never get replied to. I'd REALLY love to know what you think.

On favourites, I used to hate mass-favouriters and such, but in my opinion now, a favourite means someone likes your art, beyond just looking at it. Like a pat on the back. So favourites without comments are welcome, but of course, comments are always appreciated ^^
